Once I arrived in Canggu, I knew I made the right decision to ditch my plan of staying five days in Kuta. The town is more relaxed; they have the homestays to give me the Indonesian experience I was looking for, the people here are kind and friendly and do not bother you into making a purchase. The community will welcome you with open arms.
I stayed in an Airbnb, you can view it here, the photos below are the view from the balcony. If you’re new to Airbnb, use my referral code to get $50 off your first stay.
All I wanted to do here was to get out of Kuta, so I didn’t have any plans other than to relax.
Day 1 โ Arrival & Beach 08.31.2019
After arriving in the afternoon from my surfing day in Kuta, I went straight to the beach to relax. The restaurants along the beach open up dining and on the beach seating during low tide. I ate at the SeaWeed Restaurant, a fantastic place with a beautiful view of the beach. One thing to note here is that there are a LOT of wild dogs on this beach, they donโt tend to bother people, but something to note.

Taking in the best sunset I have ever encountered on my travels and trying to plan my day for tomorrow, ends my first day in Canggu.
Day 2 โ Scooter Time 09.01.2019
I woke up and had no plans; I worked for a few hours and walked the city streets. I got back to my hotel hoping to have a driver take me out to Gitgit, but they wanted 700k IDR one way. So I ditched that plan pretty fast and decided I was going to go beach hopping.
In Ubud and Kuta, there was no way I was going to get on a scooter, without risking my life, but after walking around the first day in Canggu, I decided to give it ago. I planned to scooter around the villages and go to different beaches.
I made it to three different beaches and went near some rice terraces.

After my four-hour scooter ride, I checked out some of the local markets. The quality of products was better here than in both Ubud and Kuta. The shirts I bought in both Ubud and Kuta were very low quality compared to here, and the prices were relatively similar.
To end the night, I went back to the Seaweed restaurant to catch one more sunset and also eat some grilled corn on the cob, made to perfection by the local beach vendor.

Back to Kuta for one more day and then back to reality.
Cheers!
